Ross Nelson is a partner and Head of New Business Development at SPFG. He also specializes in fixed income portfolio implementation and management for some of the group’s top clients and is a member of the investment committee.
Prior to SPFG, Ross was vice president and director of new business at a boutique investment firm in Atlanta catering to RIAs in the fixed-income markets, having joined the firm in 2004. While there, he supported many top clients and was a marketing leader.
In addition to his work with the group’s RIA clients, Ross has spoken at financial industry conferences and has given fixed-income related presentations for NAPFA, FPA, Schwab Impact and TD Ameritrade.
Born in Enid, Oklahoma, Ross grew up in Naples, FL before moving to Atlanta, GA where he graduated from high school. He attended Samford University in Birmingham, AL where he earned a Bachelor of Arts in finance while also studying abroad in London, England and Prague, Czech Republic. Ross and his wife Lauren and their son William live in Atlanta, GA. Ross enjoys traveling, golfing, hunting and spending time at the lake with family.
