Joe is a founding partner and Co-Head of Fixed-Income Trading at SPFG. He works in managing many of the firm’s top client relationships, specializes in fixed income trading and portfolio construction, is a member of the investment committee, and pens many the firm’s client communication pieces.
Before forming SPFG, Joe was managing director and head of fixed income trading at a boutique investment firm in Atlanta catering to RIAs in the fixed-income markets. During this time, Joe was also a senior member of the firm’s investment committee and managed many of the top client relationships. Prior to that, he held similar roles within First Union Capital Markets, McDonald Investments, and Register and Akers Investments in Atlanta.
Joe earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, New York. He moved to Atlanta in 1998 to begin his career and resided there for 17 years before moving back to his hometown in upstate NY where he now resides with his wife, Kate, and daughter, Maya.
Joe is currently serving as President of the Board of Education for the Hoosick Falls Central School District, where he has given his time for the past 7 years. In addition to spending time with his family and close friends, Joe enjoys traveling, cooking, skiing, and a variety of other outdoor activities.
