Giles joined SPFG as an Associate in December 2023. He supplements the firm’s research efforts in municipal and corporate credit. Giles contributes to coverage of existing client relationships and will be assisting with new business development. His additional responsibilities include sales operations, credit trading, and portfolio management.
Prior to joining SPFG, Giles was an Associate with the Public Finance National Quantitative Group of Raymond James (NYSE: RJF). His experience at RJ included advising issuers on tax-exempt and taxable transaction structuring, credit analysis, capital planning, and debt optimization. Giles began his career with United Bankshares Inc. (NASDAQ: UBSI), where he worked in credit analysis and commercial portfolio management.
A native of Atlanta, Giles earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Washington and Lee University and currently holds the Series 7, Series 63, Series 52, and Series 50 professional licenses. Giles, his wife Margaret, and their daughter Margot live in Atlanta. Outside of work, Giles enjoys traveling, golfing, fishing, and general outdoor recreation.
